Joni Seager Biography
Who Is Joni Seager?
Seager was born on November 19, 1954. Joni Seager is a feminist geographer and a professor of Global Studies at Bentley University in Boston. Seager has been noticed and achieved international acclaim for her work in feminist environmental policy analysis, the environmental costs of militaries and militarism, and gender and climate change. Seager attended The University of Toronto, Clark University and went back to Clark University to get a Ph.D.
At The University of Toronto Seager received a Bachelor of Arts degree. While attending Clark University Seager received a Master of Arts degree and then received a Ph.D. from the same university. Finally, Seager had received Dean Emerita at York University. Dean Emerita is a very honorary term and is not used often. This just proves that what Seager has done, is doing, and will be doing has had and will have a huge impact on the world around us.
Not only has Seager impacted the world by teaching and getting degrees but, Seager is also the author of multiple books. These books include the five editions of the award winning feminist classic, The Women’s Atlas, two editions of The State of the Environment Atlas, and Earth Follies: Coming to Feminist Terms with the Global Environmental Crisis.
Not only is Seager a notable author, Seager has also spent time being an active consultant for the United Nations regarding several gender and environmental policy projects. One of these projects included consulting with the United Nations Environmental Program on trying to integrate different gender perspectives into their work on disasters.
Overall, Seager wants to make a change. It takes a lot of time but Seager has been patient, persistent, knowledgable, and most importantly Seager has taken action. Little by little Seager is impacting the lives of everyone around us. Seager set out to make a change and she achieved that, but this will not stop Seager from doing more and making this world a better place.
